Firenze Film Festival 2022

Dopo due anni di pausa a causa della pandemia, il Firenze Film Festival torna nelle sale cinematografiche. La quinta edizione si terrà il 16 dicembre presso la Fondazione Stensen, con 10 cortometraggi di vario genere e stile, per celebrare il cinema indipendente e portare alla ribalta per un altro anno nuovi registi.

Nel rispetto della diversità e della valorizzazione di nuove voci, il programma di quest’anno prevede la presenza di registi provenienti dai quattro angoli della terra, di diversa provenienza, età e prospettiva artistica.

Il Firenze Film Festival ha aperto le sue porte al pubblico per la prima volta nel 2018. È organizzato da HF Productions, un’organizzazione internazionale che offre 24 festival cinematografici in 15 Paesi. Nel corso degli anni, il Festival ha ospitato più di 100 artisti provenienti da oltre 30 Paesi del mondo.

Vlada è una ragazza che consegna pizze, vive ad Haifa e sogna di diventare una famosa DJ. Nell’arco di un turno di cinque ore, ci viene mostrato il suo mondo pieno di pressioni, in cui è disposta a fare qualsiasi cosa pur di trovare i soldi per un volo per esibirsi a un festival a Londra.

Jürgen Leppert, noto anche come “Der Dreher” o “der Kreisel”, è un ingegnere laureato, inventore di altoparlanti, ballerino a 360 gradi, dotato giocatore di frisbee e sessantottino purosangue. Tutto ruota intorno alla leggenda di Karlsruher, e non solo sulla pista da ballo. Una dichiarazione d’amore alla musica, al ballo e alla ribellione. Il ritratto di una persona tenace che nuota ancora controcorrente e la prova vivente che 81 anni non sono affatto troppi per i rave hard.

Una lottatrice di arti marziali miste scopre di essere incinta nel periodo che precede l’incontro più importante della sua carriera, in questo cortometraggio australiano nominato agli AACTA. Un ibrido documentario-drammatico, sostenuto da un’interpretazione reticente ma toccante della combattente professionista di MMA Annie Thatcher, The Bends è un ritratto elevato ed empatico di una persona abituata a spingere il proprio corpo al limite, ma che ora deve scegliere se conquistarlo o tenerlo al sicuro per un altro.

La denatalità sta facendo scomparire una città. Il governo sta adottando misure urgenti, non solo psicologiche. Le donne che non contribuiscono al futuro demografico del Paese sono viste come un problema da risolvere, così ogni anno sono chiamate a dichiarare a un ufficio governativo il motivo per cui non hanno avuto figli negli ultimi dodici mesi. In un mondo fuori dal tempo, che ce lo ricorda ogni giorno di più, Bianca e Vittoria si trovano agli angoli opposti del loro tempo di fertilità. La loro conoscenza le costringe a scegliere in un istante la direzione del loro futuro: ogni scelta comporterà un cambiamento radicale del loro destino.

Tutti abbiamo ricevuto telefonate truffa, ma che dire della persona che le fa? Cruise è una satira cupa sul posto di lavoro che racconta di uno sfortunato operatore di telemarketing che cerca di regalare una crociera. E se fallisce, ci saranno conseguenze terribili.

Una madre consumata dal dolore si avventura tra le montagne senza l’intenzione di tornare, ma l’incontro con un’anziana ed enigmatica postina fa imboccare alla sua vita una nuova strada.

È la fine dell’estate, Arthur, Yuna, Lucie e Jurijn hanno diciassette anni. Mentre si godono gli ultimi momenti di libertà in riva al laghetto, i cuori e i corpi si cercano, cercando disperatamente di entrare in contatto. In questa calda giornata estiva, affrontano il tumulto interiore dell’adolescenza.

Callie, una giovane donna disoccupata che vive con una madre dispotica, cerca una via d’uscita nell’universo scintillante ma crudele di YouTube Beauté. Si spingerà oltre i suoi limiti per compiacere la sua manciata di abbonati, mantenendo un volto sorridente e un’immagine perfetta.

Firenze Film Festival 2022

After two years of online presence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Firenze Film Festival returns to cinema halls. This year’s edition will take place on December 16 at the Fondazione Stensen, the city’s beloved multi-space cultural foundation that brings together the arts of film and literature serving as a meeting place for a wide audience.

Featuring 10 short films of various genres and styles, the 5th Firenze Film Festival celebrates independent cinema and once again brings new filmmakers to the fore. After two challenging years away from the cinema halls, we are excited to welcome cinephiles, film critics and filmmakers to one of Florence’s most important and historic cultural venues.

Honouring diversity and highlighting new voices, this year’s screening programme consists of filmmakers from the four corners of the earth, of various backgrounds, age ranges and artistic perspectives.

Our aim is to make 2022 the starting point for the expansion of the Festival to more days, as well as to evolve and grow artistically, attracting our cinephile audience.

The Firenze Film Festival opened its doors to the audience for the first time in 2018. It is organized by HF Productions, an international organization delivering 24 film festivals in 15 countries. Over the years, the Festival has featured more than 100 artists from over 30 countries worldwide.

Vlada is a pizza delivery girl who lives in Haifa and dreams of becoming a famous DJ. Within a five-hour shift, we get a glimpse into her world full of pressure where she’s willing to do whatever it takes to find the money for a flight to perform at a festival in London.

Everything revolves around the Karlsruher legend, and not just on the dance floor. A declaration of love to music, dancing and rebellion. A portrait of a tough person who still swims against the stream and the living proof that 81 years is far from too old for hard raves.

A mixed martial arts fighter discovers she’s pregnant in the lead-up to the most important fight of her career, in this AACTA-nominated Australian short film. A docu-drama hybrid propelled by a reticent yet affecting performance from pro-amateur MMA fighter Annie Thatcher, The Bends is an elevated, empathetic portrait of a person accustomed to pushing their body to its limit, but who now must choose between conquering it or keeping it safe for another.

Denatality is making one town disappear. The Government is set pressing measures, not just psychological ones. Females who don’t contribute to the demographic future of the country are seen as a problem to resolve, thus every year they are called to declare to a Government Office the reason why they haven’t had any babies in the last twelve months. In an out-of-time world, that reminds us more with every passing day, Bianca and Vittoria are at opposite angles of their fertility time. Their acquaintance forces them to choose in an instant the direction of their future: any choice will result in a radical change in their destiny.

We’ve all received scam phone calls, but what about the person making the calls? Cruise is a dark workplace satire about a hapless telemarketer trying mightily to give away a free cruise. And if he fails, there will be dire consequences.
